Right he was betting ponies etc still doesn't look good if hes trying to get back in baseball and the hall.Like when jorden was going to vegas while playing dosen't look good to be associatd with gambling at all.
His credibility was shot. I personally think he deserves to get into the hall, what you do on the field should't have anything to do with what you do off..i don't think he was betting bb when he played just when he coached or player coach that is bad tho.
Should of got his bb card autographed but didn't feel like bothering him, who knows how he would of reacted.

Obviously the guy is jonesing to gamble on baseball again. Admitting it clears him for reinstatement. Red's hire him as manager in three or four years, Pete bet's his paycheck away, except this time he'll do it in the privacy of his hotel room with his laptop and offshore account at Olympic!
I don't think he'll be a manager anywhere anytime soon. Could be a hitting coach though. Just ain't going to be anywhere close to the top of management for safe measures.
One thing I think that is REALLY ODD is ESPN is just breaking this story today.
